About

Malon Bakker is a musician, artist and writer, working across sound, image and text. This site brings the three together: songs and piano compositions, paintings and digital work, and texts, theatre and books.

Music holds the releases (albums, EPs and singles) next to cover versions and piano compositions, all of which can be played right here in the browser. Art is arranged in series: traditional work in paint, ink and charcoal, and digital paintings, collages and generative work. Words collects texts and theatre productions, in Dutch and in English, and the books.

Every page of the site sits on a shadow study: a photograph of Malon's own shadow on a sunlit wall, which moves with the light, the pointer and the music. Light and shadow are the thread that runs through the work.

Press photographs are in the portfolio. For bookings, commissions, collaborations and other questions, write to hello@modderenzwanen.nl or see the contact page.
